MEGADETH's 'Headcrusher' To Be Made Available For Free Download Next Week
NewsMEGADETH's brand new track entitled "Headcrusher" will be made available for free download on Tuesday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. EDT at the Roadrunner Records web site.

As previously reported, the studio version of "Headcrusher" is available for listening by calling MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine's number (866.597.6342) at TheLiveLine, a service he launched that enables musicians to connect to their audience over the phone.

"Headcrusher" comes off MEGADETH's twelfth studio album, "Endgame", which is tentatively due in September through Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at the band's brand new, self-built studio in San Marcos, California — Vic's Garage — which was named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character.

CHILDREN OF BODOM Tour Update
NewsCHILDREN OF BODOM bassist Henkka Blacksmith has issued the following tour blog:

"In the beginning of the summer we went to Janne's small studio and recorded a couple of new cover songs for the forthcoming cover album. The songs turned out really good. Especially the slower song, that seemed to be a little hard to arrange.

Then we kept on doing the festivals, as planned. Provinssirock, was good, even though we played soooo late. 'I hate these Finnish mosquitos!', as our German friend used to say.

Then we went to hot Spain. Zaragoza city is beautiful, but it was very windy. Again we played very late, and the wind just kept getting stronger. We had to really choose our steps carefully on stage, in order not be blown down by that wind. It was surreal. But it was good to be in Spain again, after a couple of years break.

Today we came back from Belgium. Graspop is known to be one of the best metal festivals in the world, and again it truly was nice. Sunday was sort a reunion feeling, when LAMB OF GOD and GOD FORBID was playing too. And SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. Saturday we managed to get to the festival in time to see JOURNEY. We played on Sunday, and the tent was really hot. But the crowd was amazing. Best Graspop show ever for us.

ALICE IN CHAINS post new song
NewsALICE IN CHAINS are giving fans a sneak preview of their highly anticipated upcoming album BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE (Virgin/EMI) by posting a brand-new song online. The seven-minute-long track, titled "A Looking In View," can be heard on www.aliceinchains.com . A companion video for the song is forthcoming and its trailer is available on the band's site. “A Looking In View” will appear on BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE, in stores September 29th.

About "A Looking In View," Alice In Chains vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell says, “The song basically speaks to any number of things that keep you balled up inside. A cell of our own making with an unlocked door that we choose to remain in. Focusing our attention inward instead of reaching out to a much larger world. I think this is common to us all. It’s funny how hard we fight to hang on to a bone we can’t pull through a hole in the fence, or how difficult it is to put down the bag of bricks and move on.”

LEAD SINGER WANTED!
News

LEAD SINGER WANTED!

STRIKKEN is currently seeking a new vocalist following the exit of Scott. The band is looking for a distinctive voice to augment its unique sound and mirror its complex conceptual background.

STRIKKEN is completing a new album, mostly without vocals, with Mikey Jaymz filling in on vocal duties. The group is looking for a vocalist with versatility, power, range, a touring heart and a fervent love for all STRIKKEN has to offer. STRIKKEN does not want a one-dimensional singer, but someone diverse with range and power. More like vocalists with signature diversity such as Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, In Flames, & Pantera.

Candidates looking to apply should download vocal-free music from the links below, record their vocals and email tracks back along with full contact information and picture to the e-mail address provided at the bottom of this article. Applicants are also encouraged to complete the tracks via video and upload them to their personal YouTube pages, or can submit materials from their own bands or work. STRIKKEN will be considering entries throughout the summer and hope to announce a new vocalist very soon.

Vocal-free tracks can be downloaded from the following location:    www.garageband.com/STRIKKEN

Submissions should be sent to: strikkenaudition@strikken.com
