WHO ON EARTH: ‘Hold The Line’ – US hard rockers release tasty cover of classic rock anthem

US hard rock act Who On Earth have paid homage to one of the greatest classic rock anthems of all time with their new single, a remake of the iconic ‘Hold The Line’ by Toto.

The New Jersey-based quintet challenged themselves to maintain the integrity of the original version while also giving it a harder edge by utilising state-of-the-art engineering and production. Given that Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) had done such a sterling job helming their 2022 debut album, ‘Blame’, it was a no-brainer to utilise his skills and Orlando’s own Sonic Stomp Studio in New York City again.

“This is actually the first recording we have made with our new guitarists Bruce Gatewood and Johnny James Barone and they did a great job,” states bassist Pete Rizzi. “We really wanted to get this right given the historical status of the song and we are thrilled with the result. It was a true collaboration.”

“We couldn’t find a single person that didn’t love this song, so we felt a bit of pressure to do it justice,” adds powerhouse vocalist Coosh. “After all, it was written and recorded 45 years ago by some of the best studio musicians of the time!”

“Who On Earth claim they wanted to bring back old style heavy metal in their music, but I’d say they’ve invented a completely new one of their own 10/10”

“One of the best albums I have reviewed this year. If you like good Hard Rock you won’t be disappointed, trust me”
METAL TEMPLE
“I grew up with another hard rock band from New Jersey, who even had an album named after their home state, but they wouldn’t be able to hit anything anywhere near this good, relevant or fresh if you gave them a baseball bat. Who On Earth, on the other hand, just smashed their debut album for a home run and then some”
