Hatebreed and Der W behind door 21
Christmas gets closer and again we have two new bands in the W:O:A advent calendar.
Hatebreed
Before the feast of love starts, it’s time for the full load of hate!
The US American band Hatebreed is going to smash Wacken for the second time. The legendary hardcore formation will bring to their mixture of brute metal riffs, breakdowns and moshparts. Earlier this year, the band released the album The Divinity of Purpose – their 6th album. We’ll see us in the pit!

Der W
Stephan Weidner comes back to Wacken! The mastermind of the famous Böhse Onkelz and the connection to the W:O:A is commonly known and because of this he can’t be missed at our Anniversary. Since the Onkelz split up, Weidner is successful with his solo project Der W. Three albums are released so far, the last one, called “III”, in 2012.

Door 23: Carcass return to W:O:A!
Today’s announcement is especially for the fans of martial music!
Carcass
For the second time ever, Carcass are coming to smash the W:O:A. The band started their extreme metal crusade at the end of the eighties but then split up in 1995. Since 2007, the band is reunited but the first album after the split up wasn’t released until this year. The new album is the sixth of the band and it’s called Surgical Steel. The band satisfied the expectations of the numerous fans which means they have successfully started their new death metal offensive!

Thrash for the fest! Megadeth behind door 24
The Advent calendar for the Wacken Open Air 2014 comes to an end, today is the last chance to get one of the daily prizes at our raffle. And you should also have all 24 letters for the solution by now to win one of our main prizes.
For today’s Christmas Eve, we have prepared a huge punch: Megadeth – the mighty thrash titans from the USA! This is the last band of our calendar, but of course we will continue to announce bands for W:O:A 2014 soon – so stay tuned!
Megadeth
Another huge Wacken premiere for the Anniversary! Thrash legend and Big Four member Megadeth will come to the holy land for the very first time. A real metalhead surely doesn’t need a instruction what Dave Mustaine’s band is about. After he left Metallica he released “Killing Is My Business… and Business Is Good!” in 1985 – and the rest is history.
