The Outlaw Orchestra steal their way into 2024 with ‘Born To Be A Thief’, third single taken from a mid 2024 studio album release, ‘La Familia’. Describing themselves as “A band from the Deep South UK”, but to be more precise, Southampton!
Lead singer/guitarist David Roux proclaims, “We wanted to capture what it is we do in a studio or sitting around, busking ideas onto the finished album. It’s three instruments, our voices and not layering lots of overdubs! It’s us as we are live and a great sound for Tres Hombre!”
My first listen to the single brought to mind a holy trinity of banjo, electric guitar and drums for a hectic, eclectic, four fiery minutes of Bluegrass heaven. Opening up with sinewy banjo , metronomic drum patterns and a dirt under the fingernails delivered lead vocal that heads toward, big fat guitar riffs and a shot straight from the hip outro guitar solo. Job well and truly done, and it bodes well for the new album.
