Listen to the track, The City Lies In Ruins, the first track to be taken from the album of the same name HERE.
Massimo Pupillo has an impressive pedigree – the founding member of Zu, and an accomplished musician having played on over 50 albums, and played over 2000 concerts worldwide. He teamed up with composer, producer, engineer and musician, David Chalmain, and acclaimed musician Raphaël Séguiner in 2011, and the result isTRIPLE SUN.
Coming from very different worlds: classical, avant-garde and rock, the three musicians at the heart of TRIPLE SUN took on the challenge to engage in songwriting that would be both simple and full of inspirations coming from their very different backgrounds.
The City Lies In Ruins was recorded in Rome and Paris, with David Chalmain at the helm across multiple sessions in 2014 and 2015.
Pupillo describes the impetus behind the album:
“The ambition of the band is to have no boundaries, to experiment yet not be afraid of simple beauty. For me, personally, it’s the first time I’ve sung on a recording, and it’s the first time I’ve written music with a very intimate and personal feeling. Of course personal is also universal – we all go through heartbreaks and dark nights of the soul, deaths and resurrections, visions and dreams. We are all just humans, after all.”
The City Lies In Ruins by TRIPLE SUN will be released via Consouling Sounds on May 13, 2016. Pre-orders are available now – click HERE.
