Welcome back Scarborough, North Yorkshire based band This House We Built, and what a return as it takes some bravado, not to just attempt a song of this magnitude, but to put a twist on the John Farnham 1986 classic ‘You’re The Voice’, but to emerge with heads held high.
Brick heavy riffs add a solid backbone to let quirky time changes have their fair share throughout this musical cavalcade. Lead vocals are taken and belted out to stratospheric heights by Danny Vaughn from Tyketto, who This House We Built are currently touring with. It closes on a full blooded stomp, job well and truly done! It was originally recorded at 6DB studio in York, February 2023 with producer Dave Boothroyd.
Lead vocalist from This House We Built, Scott Wardell adds, “I always loved this track growing up, and performing it live at acoustic shows, was a hit. With Dave Boothroyd’s input, we put our own mark on the song, and adding Danny Vaughn’s vocals, took it to the next level. They’re releasing the track now to coincide with the Tyketto winter tour. We thought it was the perfect time to share it with the masses”.
Danny Vaughn adds, “It’s the perfect time to revisit the message of this song. You are the voice, and you are not alone by any means. “We’ve got the power to be powerful”
