THIS HOUSE WE BUILT – Video reveal for new single ‘ADDICTION’

PlanetMosh stopped by NY500 Cafe in Pickering to watch the video reveal of This House We Built (THWB) upcoming new single, ‘Addiction’.

Why a cafe in North Yorkshire? ‘Addiction’ will be the first new single to be released from the band’s second album, and was filmed at the NY500 cafe. This House We Built wanted to give something back to the awesome venue, which hosts car and bike meets for petrolheads alike. Supported by Different State, the alt-rockers’ stripped-back set gave you a feel of post-grunge rock, sound for tonight’s special event. The 3-piece, comprising Sam Womack, Rob Ted Firth and Lucas Pettit, formerly known as Hunter Gatherer, also hailing from North Yorkshire, warmed up the stage as they took us through a collection of their latest new music. Opening the evening’s set, with their new single ‘Addiction’, it’s a beast of a song that’s waiting to spring into action. Playing an acoustic set is something singer Scott Wardell is rather good at, along with his fellow bandmates. The band might be limited on the amount of noise they can blast tonight, but they sure do put on of hell-of-a-show! I was expecting a handful of songs to be played tonight, instead we got two blistering half-hour sets, comprising old favourites like ‘We Are We Are, ‘Fair Weather Friend’ and ‘My Old Friend’.

Intermission, and it’s time to showcase their new video for ‘Addiction’. This House We Built put the pedal to the metal on this high-octane new tune. Delivering you an adrenaline pill in the video for ‘Addiction’ features extreme sports, which will get your endorphins on a new high! The song itself is a harder and heavier sound from THWB. Set in NY500 cafe, the band gives you a supreme guitar overload on this heavy hitter, with Scott’s vocals going to a new lung-bursting high! A great video from the band, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the rush! It’s gonna be great hearing it live and electric, judging by the crowd’s reaction!

After getting our breath back, This House We Built returns to complete their acoustic set. Closing with the anthemic ‘Coming Home To You’, the band rouse our emotions on the last song. Great work, and we can’t wait to see you again!
