A warm welcome back is well deserved for the Staffordshire, England based quartet The Midwich Affair (in my eyes, they’re the Fantastic Four), as they fire over another scintillating single, ‘Edge Of Regret’, classing themelves as “Alternative rock adventures with an old style new wave sensibility”, point proven by a recent performance from them at a local jazz/blues weekend festival where they performed in an almost small front door porch of the venue! Very surreal to say the least but the show must go on, thankfully the band took it in their stride and played an excellent set.
Anyway, I digress as ‘Edge Of Regret’ is another party starter and finisher as this drum driven rocker is not that far from headbanging territory due to its power and precision of hefty riffing, a watertight rhythm section and a lead vocal that roars and soars to the heavens, returning just in time for a midway guitar solo to close these four frantic minutes in style.
