In all of my years of reviewing, I don’t think I’ve seen so much love for a band to forge ahead and keep on going for their thousands of followers who have been so overwhelming with support. The band is Fireheart and watch them fly out of the starting blocks with debut single,‘Staring At The Sun’.
On the first listen I was impressed immediately as it’s an anthem to end all anthems as this monstrous debut reaches to the heavens on classic rock vibes. A lead vocal is all melody with muscle as the rest of the band lock in tight courtesy of an earthshaking rhythm section and twin guitar mayhem of monstrous riffing and fretboard fury. Job done in four spotlight stealing minutes!
Released digitally on April 30th via Earache Digital Distribution, Staring at the Sun is a soaring, anthemic hard rock track that cuts straight to the heart. Lyrically, the song explores the struggle of letting down emotional walls, whether in love, friendship, or personal growth, and learning to trust, to be free, and to embrace the light of better days. “It’s about having someone in your life but being too scared to move forward, to really let them in,” explains Russ Grimmett (Lead Vocalist). “We wanted this song to capture that moment of release, when you finally trust enough to let go and just be happy. Spend your days staring at the sun instead of hiding in the dark.” With raw honesty, arena-ready hooks, and an undeniable energy, Staring at the Sun is the first taste of what Fireheart is bringing to the hard rock revival. The band, comprised of Russ Grimmett (vocals), Kev Baker (guitar), Lee Jason (lead guitar), Bret Barnes (bass), and Chris Hopton (drums), has already established itself as a rising powerhouse, blending modern edge with classic rock roots.
