SHIPWRECKER were originally formed in 2019 as an occasional side project which was situated throughout the UK before it became the Liverpool flagship project it is now. Featuring the husband-and-wife twosome of Jo and Eve Barnes, who despatch magnetic guitar riffs and pounding drums, Adam Hillhouse takes care of the bass supplying ample groove and vigour, and Matt Vaggers, is such an accomplished vocalist, they have plotted a route to unleash their distinct fusion of groove-tinged classic rock to the world. Born from a shared adoration for hard rock, SHIPWRECKER set loose powerful riff-infused earworms that are submerged with energy, vitality, power, and capped off with immersing vocal refrains. The Merseyside-based rock ’n’ rollers have already picked up glowing comparisons to everyone from Led Zeppelin, Queen, and Free, through to the likes of: Rage Against The Machine, Reef, and Foo Fighters.
The rampant four-piece are quickly gaining a reputation for their live work; the band have the extraordinary accolade of having sold out every show they have played so far. The growth of the band is real and it’s increasing daily. Their recent singles, Voice In My Head, and Sleep Tonight were keenly supported by Planet Rock, Total Rock, ERB Radio, and by many others. SHIPWRECKER release their exhilarating debut album, Different Beast, this Summer. Guitarist, Jo Barnes comments about the record: “In a world full of cynicism, doom, and gloom, we set out to make a record that really represented the fun and joy we have playing together. Full of hooks, melody, and energy, ‘Different Beast’ is a rock album with a pop heart, written for ‘that one perfect listener’.”
