Summary:

This is a great EP. The fact that only one song will be on the next album (and even then it's a different version) then it makes this EP well worth buying for Running Wild fans.

German pirate-metal band Running Wild are releasing a new 4 track EP ahead of their next album (due for release Summer 2020).

The title track “Crossing the blades” will be on the new album, the album will feature a different version of the song, re-recorded and with a number of changes. It’s unusual for a Running Wild song as instead of the song being based around a guitar riff as usual, it’s the bass that everything is based on this time.

The second track, “Stargazed” was played by the band at Wacken Open Air festival last year so plenty of fans will have heard it already but only in a live format.

The third song is a cover of the KISS classic “Strutter”. Rolf Kasparek explains that KISS were the reason he formed his first band, and after noticing they don’t play it live any more when he saw KISS play in Hanover on their current farewell tour, he decided to do a cover of it in Running Wild’s style. It’s a great cover.

The final track is “Ride on the wildside”, a great catchy song
