Welcome back to NWOBHM stalwarts Praying Mantis, formed in London 1973 by brothers Tino and Chris Troy, aided by Steve Carroll and Dave Potts. Many line up changes have now been stabilized to the current line up of Chris Troy – Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals, Tino Troy – Guitar/Vocals, Andy Burgess – Guitar/Vocals, John ‘Jaycee’ Cuipers – Lead Vocals and Hans in’t Zandt – Drums, celebrating their thirteenth studio album Defiance, to be released on April 19th 2024 via Frontiers Music and also releasing the title track as a monumental single!
Said single is very apt for the current unrest on our planet as these powerful four minutes are truly thought provoking, especially from the lyrics, delivered powerhouse style by John and full band backing vocals, adding soothing nuances towards a midway air guitar inducing lead solo, adding more intensity to an already gripping performance, and bodes well for the rest of the album.
