Motorhead-The World Is Ours – Vol 2 – Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else

There’s nothing better than a great live rock album, and this is no exception, and Motorhead’s The Wörld Is Ours – Vol 2 – Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else, is up there with the best on them, available in cd format as well as a Blu-ray dvd, Vol 2 showcases Motorhead at their very best. Filmed at three festivals, Wacken Open Air, Germany, August 6th 2011, Sonisphere Festival UK, July 10th 2011 and Rock In Rio Brazil, September 25th 2011. As the title suggests, the tracks on The Wörld Is Ours – Vol 2 – Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else come from Motörhead’s world tour to support 2010’s The Wörld Is Yours release. It also follows in the footsteps of the earlier release, The Wörld Is Ours – Vol 1 – Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else.
Musically, Mototrhead put on a great show, the Wacken one is especially good, as you get the entire headlining set. While the other two just get six and five songs respectively. The band tear through the old classics, and some not so old classics, however some songs such as ‘Ace Of Spades’ appear more than once, and in the case of ‘Killed By Death’ three times, which can feel a little repetitive, given the short set list from Sonisphere and Rock In Rio.
The triumphant headline appearance at Wacken 2011 is the pick of the bunch, a full setlist, a massive onstage Bomber, complete with stunning lighting rig, coupled with a very good production and mix make this the ideal choice for somebody discovering Motorhead for the first time, or who were perhaps at Sonisphere.
All in all, a top notch release from one of Britains best loved bands. 9/10.
