I only heard about Dead Man’s Whiskey just over a week ago from hearing them on the NWOCR compilation album with a stunning track called ‘War Machine’ and that quality also comes from this recently released single ‘Breakout’.
This 5 piece London based band kick out the jams with not just big riffs but big Brontosaurus heavy riffs backed by a lead vocal that could shatter glass. My first impression was of early 80’s era Krokus which to me is no bad thing.
It’s a song we can all relate to as we look forward to rocking out at the weekend after 5 hard days at work, point proven by the raise your fist in the air choruses of “Breakout, 5 days and it takes a toll, waiting all week for my rock and roll. Breakout, I know I sold my soul, take it all, take it all, take it all.”
‘Breakout’ is taken from a 5 track EP of the same name due for release on Friday, October 1st 2021.
