Beth Blade and the Beautiful Disasters - Show Me Your Teeth

Sometimes you have to knock on a few doors to get on in the music business but with Show Me Your Teeth, the second studio album from Beth Blade And The Beautiful Disasters to be released on 25th January 2019, these twelve songs are taking a demolition ball to the whole of the building!

Fronted of course by the human dynamo of energy that is Beth Blade, ‘Secrets’ is a big Doc Marten boot up the arse album opener with its no frills hard rock that doesn’t let up until its made its point. The slow but heavy groove of the title track is backed by a vocal of bewitching croons and banshee howls. ‘Give It All You’ve Got’ needs to be played loud and proud, a driving riffer that good it could easily fit onto the Back In Black album. ‘On And On’ is the first radio friendly track here and it touches the heart from the off with deep lyrics and sugar sweet choruses, ending on a high of sweeping strings and heavy riffs.

‘You And I’ is power balladry at its finest as the band add the crunch to Beth’s stellar vocal. ‘Crazy’, a sultry ballad is another tear jerker with touches of Heart in the dynamics. We’re back to the loud and lewd stuff as the lyrics to ‘I Ain’t Got Nothing (If I Ain’t Got Rock And Roll) walk the walk and talk the talk over headbanging riffs and a tasty melodic solo outro. Huge choruses add the muscle to ‘Lost In You’, another radio friendly number containing some band fueled “Whoa oh oh’s”. The variety keeps you on your toes as the riffs dominate ‘Into The Light’ as they vie for attention with a vocal tour de force from Beth.

‘1974’ is a souped up glam rocker which cleverly gives shout outs to ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ and ‘It’s Only Rock And Roll But I Like It’, both released in the same year. ‘Who Do You Love Now?’ has a punk rock vibe running alongside the simple but effective riffing and the album closes on its heaviest song ‘Jack And Coke’, a race to the finish line raging rock and roller!
