Scarborough rockers This House We Built have released their brand-new album Get Out Of The Rain, available now on all major platforms, alongside the premiere of the powerful new video for the latest single, “Rain.” “Rain” marks the fourth single to be lifted from the band’s second album.
The band pushed themselves creatively during the making of the video, which was filmed using a “rain room” and a full water tank setup. “It was probably the most challenging video we’ve done so far,” says vocalist/guitarist Scott Wardell. “We had a lot of fun with it, but I did have to sacrifice a guitar in the process. Guitars and rain don’t mix, kids, don’t try this at home!”
Scott Wardell Vocals, Guitars, Percussion
Andy Jackson Vocals, Guitars
Chris Mayes Drums, Vocals
Wayne Dowkes-White Bass Guitar

A whopping eleven songs are of the highest order, point proven by opening track ‘Rain’. A quick review would be “All Killer,No Filler”, but that does not do justice to these eleven, thrilling songs.
It kicks off with ‘Rain’. A heavy intro sets the scene for some bass heavy bludgeon, muscling up more for the huge choruses, to give it a message of hope.
‘Addiction’ is a Godzilla stomped earthshaker that rattles and hums for four frantic minutes, full of band fuelled “Whoa Oh Oh’s”, a power with precision drum battery and a gruelling breakdown.
‘Broken Dreams’ keeps the heaviness going with hammer blow power and precision, allowing verses to soar to the stratosphere, burning up on re-entry with a glint in its eye.
‘Desires’ is a another full on tub thumper, putting the recording needle in the red with a put up or shut up attitude.
‘Coming Home To You’ is an early anthem. One to get your phones in the air for this bonafide heartmelter, and nirvana is reached by the majestic choruses.
‘Crash N Burn’ has a Nu metal vibe but enough for plagarism, rollercoasting along on bullish beats, a broken glass chewed lead vocal, but watch out for those bone crushing riffs once more.
It seems only fair that ‘It’s Only Rock N Roll’ by the Rolling Stones, has touches of ‘Brown Sugar’ in the choruses, and they work a lot better for it. Serious bass prowess and more fretboard fury makes for another headbanger.
‘Wheels’ is a dirt under the fingernails romper stomper, crushing anything in its path, especially during the monolithic choruses.
‘Better Man’ is a soul searching magnum opus, breaking its shackles, freeing itself to add beautiful flourishes in the soothing choruses.
‘One By One’ is a dead cert for more rock radio airplay, forging along on bass heavy barrage, gaining more bombast when these choruses rush back in to knock you off your feet.
This overwhelming album leaves us too soon with the softly ‘Drifter’. It’s a song to melt the coldest heart, picking you up and not letting go until all the heartache has gone .
