Summary:

Jayler sail the seven seas with their new single, 'Riverboat Queen'.

Jayler’s monumental rise takes another leap as they fire out ‘Riverboat Queen’. My first aural battery from them came from playing at my local music venue, the Cosey Club in Haslington, not far from Crewe on April 6th, 2024 as part of the Sunday afternoon CozyZone events. They plugged in and changed our lives forever as they blasted away for over two hours with no break. When they stopped, the silence was deafening as, for myself, I’d never seen a band so young who already were on the way up, and just for good measure, they came back on January 31st 2025 and did it all over again. Since then they’ve played bigger venues, supporting Europe on their headline tour, and have just played two well received sets on two different days at Glastonbury 2025.

My take on the single is that in just over three minutes, they came, they saw and they conquered as stratospheric height vocals pin down an abrasive guitar extravaganza, inventive drum patterns and a rock steady bass guitar barrage. Job done!

JAYLER are a British rock band breathing fire back into the genre – loud, fearless, and built for the stage. Their new single ‘Riverboat Queen’ is a thunderous homage to the golden era of 60s and 70s rock, dripping with swagger, soul, and distortion.

With blues-drenched riffs, pounding drums, and vocals that cut through like a knife, ‘Riverboat Queen’ hits hard and fast. Think Zeppelin’s bite with The Who’s punch refined by a band with no interest in fitting the modern mould. Recorded at the legendary Vada Studios in Birmingham, built inside a chapel dating back to 1260 and produced by highly regarded UK producer George Perks, the track captures the energy of a live take with zero compromise. “It’s meant to feel dangerous and a bit out of control,” says frontman James Bartholomew. “We didn’t want it polished. It had to hit like the records we grew up on—raw, fast, and full of attitude.”

Already building a loyal following on the live circuit, JAYLER are making it clear: rock isn’t just alive—it’s roaring.
