They’re back! The Midwich Affair are back to keep the glorious summer vibes alive with their recently released single, the curiously titled, ‘Don’t Outshine The Master’. Their songs are always memorable and this one is another belter. It’s a mean and moody meanderer that also kicks ass! It eases in on a soothing lead vocal that also shows off it’s antaganostic side in the put up or shut up choruses to make for one of their heavier releases.

“Don’t Outshine The Master’ is not a warning, it’s a cold observation of those people who love you when you’re struggling. Then the day comes when you start to fulfil your potential and you realise that they’re the ones pushing against your progress.”
The title comes from Robert Greene’s book ‘The 48 Laws of Power’ and the single cover is heavily influenced by the Akira Kurosawa samurai movies which we’d been watching at the time of writing the song.
