The Amity Affliction reveal “Seems Like Forever”; New Documentary & Special Edition

Australian metalcore masters The Amity Affliction have announced a deluxe edition of their acclaimed new album, “LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME”, via Roadunner Records. The special edition release will be available physically in the UK exclusively via the Roadrunner Records UK store at http://smarturl.it/SLF, together with an exclusive ‘Seems Like Forever’ t-shirt, poster, and very limited, signed, numbered photo. It will also be available digitally via retailers such as iTunes. Fans can pre-order this week with a release date set worldwide for July 10th.

“LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME: DELUXE EDITION” appends The Amity Affliction’s critically acclaimed 2014 album with “Seems Like Forever”, a stunning new documentary chronicling the band’s extraordinary story so far, right through to last year’s epic “Let The Ocean Take Me World Tour.” The new package will also include two previously unreleased bonus tracks, “Skeletons” and “Forever.” A special trailer can be seen at below.

Known worldwide for their incendiary live performances, The Amity Affliction are fresh off a series of explosive UK dates as special guests to Of Mice & Men. The band will spend their summer traveling North America with the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, kicking off June 19th in California and then continuing through early August.

Meanwhile, The Amity Affliction have been nominated in the “Breakthrough” category for the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2015, with voting ongoing at goldengods.metalhammer.co.uk/vote/breakthrough. Results will be announced June 15th at the Golden Gods Awards event in London. In addition, the band are also nominated for “Best International Band” at the Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards, fueled by Monster Energy Drink, taking place in July. Urgent, aggressive, and remarkably cathartic, “LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME” is The Amity Affliction at their most vital best. Recorded by producer Will Putney (Winds Of Plague, Upon A Burning Body), the album – which includes the singles, “Pittsburgh” and “Don’t Lean On Me” – pushes the band’s signature post-hardcore approach to new heights of richness and diversity, providing the consummate aural partner to vocalist Joel Birch’s increasingly potent lyricism. Inspired in part by a near death experience suffered during the 2013 Vans Warped Tour, songs like “Don’t Lean On Me” and “FML” are fueled by emotion and anxiety but transcend through honesty and raw power.

The Amity Affliction’s second consecutive gold-certified #1 album in their native Australia, “LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME” received wide-ranging praise upon its release last year. Kerrang! declared, “The Amity Affliction’s most accomplished release yet,” while Rock Sound highlighted the album’s “crushing slabs of aggression offset by sing-from-the-rooftop choruses.” Big Cheese awarded it a near perfect 9/10 score, describing the record as “nothing short of remarkable,” with Metal Hammer stating, “the songs are about as catchy as they come.”
