Summary:

Specky Cult, no double entendres needed as they're mad enough with their new single, the unstoppable madness that is SWISH!

Welcome back Specky Cult, the only band I know who play whilst wearing straightjackets! Erm, erm, erm, unfortunately they don’t but it would be a great image alongside their totally bonkers music, point proven by their latest single ‘SWISH’, apparently it’s a nod, or more likely a headbutt as the song is an ode to people changing and the desire to have deigner lives and bodies. Could this review get any more silly?

A band line up change saw them sees the North East based nutters morph from being acoustic punk to a more hefty animal for a more in your face edge!

My take on the single is that it’s a groovy grind from big fat guitar riffs, earthshaking bass guitar bombast, earworm keyboard swathes, an insistent drum battery, all topped off by the mad as a hatter lead vocals from the delightful Carol Cook!
