Planet Of Zeus – Belfast, 21 November 2015

It is the coldest day of the year so far, with the temperatures plummeting to sub-zero and snow hanging in the air.  So, where does any self-respecting music journalist take a trio of musicians more used to the sunshine of their native Greece?  Why, the open air rooftop beer garden of the venue they are playing, of course!

That’s exactly where PlanetMosh chatted with three-quarters of Planet Of Zeus when they played Belfast’s Limelight as part of their current run of dates supporting Clutch.  We talked about the origin of the band’s name, the importance of the music business carrying on “as normal” in the wake of the terrorist atrocity at Le Bataclan in Paris earlier this month, the challenges of producing and promoting music in a bankrupt economic climate and, of course, their plans for a new album…

Planet Of Zeus’ tour with Clutch continues on the following dates:

Monday 23 – Glasgow, O2 Academy
Tuesday 24 – Nottingham, Rock City
Wednesday 25 – Bristol, Carling Academy (SOLD OUT)
Friday 27- Paris, France Le Trabendo (SOLD OUT)
Saturday 28 – Cologne, Essigfabrik (SOLD OUT)
Sunday 29 – Hamburg, Germany Grosse Freiheit 36
