Summary:

Paul Di'Anno returns to bellow out 'Wrathchild', one of seventeen tracks taken from his soon to be released album 'The Book Of The Beast.

Being of a certain age, regarding Iron Maiden, it’s always been the first two albums that I still go to for my Maiden fix, as both contain lead vocals from Paul Di’ Anno. Of course it’s well known that he was replaced in 1982 by Bruce Dickinson but he still soldiered on, point proven by his latest album ‘The Book Of The Beast’, due for release on September 27th, 2024, via Conquest Music, containing ‘Wrathchild’.

In a thrilling surprise for fans, Di’Anno has reworked the Maiden classic, ‘Wrathchild’, injecting it with a dark, fresh twist. The revamped version sees Paul duetting alongside ZP Theart (Dragonforce).

Di, Anno adds, “I’m loving this version of ‘Wrathchild’ and working on the vocals with ZP Theart who brought a lot of new energy into the song. ‘WrathChild’ is still in the set list of all my live shows. I love singing it and the fans grow crazy for it every night”. “I’ve handpicked 17 songs for the album that span my career and really mean a lot to me.”

Paul also brought in Russell Gillbrook from Uriah Heep on drums and Cliff Evans from Tank on guitar. What a band!

My take on the new version of ‘Wrathchild’ is that the original can NEVER be beaten but this is still an impressive metal monster that cranks up the volume to eleven with ease. It sounds a bit sparse at times, but that’s just a minor niggle”.
