Welcome back Stoke On Trent based quartet, Leaf Band UK. And it’s a very welcome one as they have just released ‘Pushing’, the first of two new songs from a two track EP, the second of which is ‘Pulling’. ‘They class themselves as, ” A real rock band – no backing tracks allowed!” Of course they have the chops to match their talent, point proven for three lumbering minutes of riffs that grab you from the off and don’t let go until they’ve finished with what’s left of your hearing. Lyrics are soul searching, capturing the ire of the songs subject. The rhythm section nails everything down with ease until all hell breaks for a headbanging inducing last minute of a piss and vinegar spewed metal meltdown.
The band add,”I am excited to share our new single ‘Pushing’ which was written from a jam session at the end of a rehearsal.
In fact the music has stayed virtually exactly the same as that first jam.
Colin took the music home and sent through the vocal ideas on the very same night!
At the next rehearsal the song was good to go and we recorded it not long afterwards.
Sometimes the best songs are totally spontaneous and this song has become one of our favourite songs to play live.
This track was recorded with our good friend, Jonny Price – Producer at Lower Lane Studios.
