Joe Bonamassa – Notches (single)

A more than welcome return from Joe Bonamassa sees him release a brand new single ‘Notches’ taken from a forthcoming studio album later on in 2021 and this strong song to say the least bodes well for it.

These fiery four minutes are built on a laid back barroom boogie shuffle, an earworm drum snare snap and a forceful lead vocal from Joe. His solos fly off the fretboard but my highlight is the chorus of “I got miles under my wheels, notches on my walkin’ cane”, short but very profound and the resulting video proves my point highlighting that life is too short to do whatever you want to do!
