DORO – ‘Raise Your Fist’ E.P. Review.

The Queen Of Metal returns with her debut release for new label Nuclear Blast, and what a promise of things to come this E.P. shows. Four tracks that prove how enduring this lady is, with a career stretching over quarter of a century, Doro sounds as valid and fresh now as she did when Warlock’s ‘Burning The Witches’ saw light of day all those years ago.
Title track ‘Raise Your Fist’ is a typical Doro sing a long track which could have come straight out of the ‘True As Steel’ sessions, whilst ‘Victory’, a slower paced but equally as powerful a song, will get anybody’s head banging and feet tapping. The German vocal ‘Engel’ proves that Doro can still churn out a tearjerker to match ‘Fur Immer’ or ‘Herzblut’, damn it, this songs so good I’m off to learn German. The E.P. concludes with a French vocal version of ‘Raise Your Fist’ to complete the Euro friendly vibe.
Doro say’s “ Everyone who likes the E.P. will be delighted with the album with it’s 13 or 14 songs as well. I’ve put all my passion, blood, sweat and tears into my first record for Blast”.
Fans who attend this years Wacken festival will be lucky enough to hear the new material live, another point that excites the lady. “ I’m thrilled that I’ll get the chance to present my new E.P. to the Metalheads there”.
The E.P. will see release through Nuclear Blast records on the 3rd of August.
