CELL GAMES (IRE) are one of the most overwhelming, unrelenting bands I’ve ever heard and that’s no boast. In just under four minutes, they’ve torn up the rulebook as Godzilla stomped, armageddon inducing devastation, lights the fuse for a blink and you’d miss this brain mangler. Imagine Paul Baloff era Exodus thrash attacks to Prodigy like insanity and a Lemmy like broken glass chewed vocal, then you’re still only halfway there to ignite any pit that anyone would dare enter of straitjacket wearing lunacy!

| Cell Games Unleash New Single Let’s Go To Therapy Ahead of UK Tour |
| On the 25th September, Irish Alternative heavy hitters, Cell Games return with their most daring release yet. The band’s new single, ‘Let’s Go To Therapy’, recorded with Josh Robinson at JSR Audio in Belfast, is the first track to feature drummer Niall O’Carroll, who joined the lineup in late 2024. |
What began as a rough verse-and-chorus demo from frontman Maximillion Foy quickly evolved into a collaborative, high-energy statement of intent. The track channels the band’s trademark intensity while weaving in influences from metal, punk, hardcore, prog, and classic rock.
“Let’s Go To Therapy initially came about as an exercise in diversifying our sound a little bit,” explains Foy. “I wanted to write something that was simultaneously the most abrasive thing we’ve done and the most accessible thing we’ve done. Plus it gives us a moshable moment, which is something our social media guru Jade said we were missing.”
The lyrics take inspiration from Foy’s reflections on therapy, self-expression, and the shared struggles of modern life:
“It was therapeutic to give in to a purely creative idea. A friend of mine believes everyone should be in therapy, and she’s probably right. Whether it’s talking to someone else, talking to yourself, or letting it out in a mosh pit—it’s all about finding a way to live a little lighter.”
The artwork for Let’s Go To Therapy features guitarist Tristan Carroll and the band’s graphic designer and social media lead Jade Costello, photographed by bassist Deb O’Brien and later edited by Costello. The strikingly simple design marks a departure from the band’s previous artwork, setting the tone for this new chapter.
To celebrate the release, Cell Games will embark on their debut UK tour this November, joining forces with UK rockers Straight For the Sun:
27.11 Cart & Horses, London
28.11 – The Six Six, Cambridge
29.11 – Tap N Tumbler, Nottingham
