Award-winning Brave Rival launch an exciting new chapter with the release of ‘Poison’, the first single & video from their forthcoming EP.This as yet untitled EP will be the band’s first as a four-piece. The EP will be released this October.
To my ears it’s driven by big, fat, juicy riffs that should fill any venue that the band intend to decimate with ease, point proven by an incendiary lead vocal to add to an already lungbusting bombastic four minutes.
Job well and truly done. Welcome back ‘Brave Rival’, we’ve missed you!
Crowned Band of the Year at the 2025 UK Blues Awards, praised by Classic Rock Magazine for their “ambition, fire, and killer songs,” and hailed by blues-rock icon Joe Bonamassa as one of his “favourite discoveries,” this powerhouse quartet is now gearing up to release their most dynamic and hard-hitting music to date.
Brave Rival are Lindsey Bonnick (lead vocals), Donna Peters (drums, percussion, acoustic guitar, vocals), Ed ‘the Shred’ Clarke (guitars, vocals), and Billy ‘Danger’ Dedman (bass guitar, vocals). Poison is classic rock at its most electrifying. What began as a playful challenge, (could Brave Rival write the AC/DC anthem that never existed?) quickly became something more powerful than they imagined.
Speaking about the track, lead vocalist Lindsey Bonnick says “When the guys sent me the first demo for Poison, I was immediately inspired. The melody and lyrics poured out of me and by the morning we had our first single!” Guitarist Ed adds “It was Billy who set the challenge to write a song in the vein of AC/DC, or our recent faves, The Southern River Band. What was initially a bit of a ‘tongue in cheek’ riff quickly became this huge driving anthem”
