‘Brave Rival’, return kicking and screaming with new single ‘Control’, taken from a forthcoming EP 5to 4 to be released on October 17th.
To my ears it’s their heaviest, gnarliest, overwhelming song I’ve heard from them. The opening riff lights the fuse for this rowdy rocker to propel towards the vehement lead vocal from Lindsey Bonnick, all piss and vinegar venom that roars and rages for four fist fighting minutes. A brief midsection lets us take a breath until all hell breaks loose from a fretboard burning guitar solo pushes this single over the finish line with ease!
“‘Control’ started as a riff in a hotel room just as we were meant
to be leaving” says guitarist Ed ‘the Shred’ Clarke . “The idea weirdly
sparked from Billy humming a completely different tune, but inspiration
struck, and I had to get my guitar out to quickly record what was in my
head!” –
Brave Rival today release ‘Control‘ this second single from the award-winning band is their heaviest song yet. An angry, fast, and explosive song about taking back control from a failed relationship. Fast tempo and a huge breakdown with thrilling vocals give this song an Evanescence edge.

Lead vocalist Linsey Bonnick adds “Lyrically, it’s probably my angriest song. And there have been a few now! It’s coming from a place of a failed relationship and a recognition that I needed to take back control of my life”.
