Longevity is the right way to describe London formed Balance Of Power, only a few years from their thirtieth anniversary and recently releasing a brand new single ‘Never Be Here Again’, taken from a forthcoming studio album Fresh From The Abyss, released on April 29th 2024, via Massacre Records! Throughout these six minutes, is it pompous? Yes! Is it histrionic? Yes! Is it overblown? Yes! Thank heavens for that as it’s a dyed in the wool metal monster par excellence to say the least!

A serene piano intro is the calm before the storm of a banshee scream from lead vocalist Hazel Jade to send it off into a riff heavy headbanger that’s almost hypnotic in its majesty and an astonishing lead vocal, held down by the grip of a watertight rhythm section and stadium filling choruses. A midway, serene piano piece is a brief respite until all hell breaks loose for a lengthy, fretboard burning guitar solo to keep the air guitarists busy.

This is the first music I’ve heard from Balance Of Power, and look forward to the Fresh From The Abyss album.
