AMBUSH REALITY has existed as a record label since 2006 solely as an outlet for the recorded works of ENTER SHIKARI. “Solely” more by accident than design, though, with time constraints and ‘nothing really jumping out and grabbing anyone’ being the main factors in the label’s singular approach to releasing music. BUT, all that is set to change.

From Monday July 21st, Ambush Reality will become a label that releases music by other, non-Enter Shikari artists.

These releases will, to begin with, take the form of digital downloads and physical, double A-side, coloured vinyl 7” singles.

The ‘A’ side will be a new track by the artist in question, while the ‘AA’ side will be a version of the ‘A’ side that has been remixed by electronic Enter Shikari alter-ego SHIKARI SOUND SYSTEM.

To kick off this next phase in the life of Ambush Reality, a brand new track by one of the most exciting live bands in Britain today… ‘The Great Hardcore Swindle’ by Nottingham’s BABY GODZILLA.

The Baby Godzilla / Enter Shikari mutual appreciation society goes back to April 2013 when the B.G opened for E.S on their UK tour at that time. The band were also chosen as main support for E.S’s triumphant pre-Russia/pre-Warped Tour warm-up show in June 2014.

The ‘A’ side was recorded in Leeds in the spring of 2014 with producer Matt Peel (Pulled Apart By Horses / Eagulls) and catches Baby Godzilla at the top of their game and whets appetites for the eventual arrival of their debut album proper (currently in production), while the ‘AA’ side  is a fresh-out-the-oven Shikari Sound System remix of ‘The Great Hardcore Swindle’, completed in May of this year, which offers a very different perspective on the Baby Godzilla sound.

The digital download track will be available from iTunes and all other reputable e-retailers / streaming services from Monday 21st July.

The pre-order for the blue vinyl 7” single will also start on July 21st, from with a release / delivery date of 18th August. The 7” is limited to 500 copies worldwide.

Baby Godzilla are spending the summer of 2014 playing various festivals around the UK.

Enter Shikari are currently in the USA for Warped Tour, but return to the UK for their main stage performance at Reading & Leeds Festivals.
