Tucked away, far from the madding crowd, Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse Ltd, once again gave us a night to remember as they played host to pop punkers Chasing The Fall, celebrating their sold out Hometown Show !!! The four band bill included trio Crowned Hyenas who had made a fantastic journey, all the way from East Anglia to Crewe, Cheshire in torrential rain, kicking off the show with an incendiary eight song performance, shaking the foundations.

West Midlands based noisemongers Homecoming UK, settled in with yet another visit here with a totally bonkers, blink and you’ll miss them covering every inch of the stage like kangaroos on pogo sticks and they kindly festooned us with a pre Christmas single ‘Big Red’.They managed to fire out twelve fiery bangers, including the tongue in cheek, not one to show grandma,‘Bj’s in your Pj’s.

Rob Hoofe from Rob Hoofe Music strode up to a full house with just him and an acoustic guitar, looking us in the eye, before tearing through a lengthy set which flew by far too soon. Highlights were many, choice cuts for me were ‘Sugar We’re Going Down’, a poignant ‘Time Of Your Life’ and a hilarious encore of ‘Teenage Dirtbag’, getting the crowd to sing the falsetto ending!
And so, the headliners have now time to show their full potential as Cheshire based ‘Chasing The Fall’ have transcended from not just being a covers band, but also have amassed an arsenal of original songs, including a four track EP called ‘Game Face’.
I swear that frontman Andy Mac covered every inch of that stage, as well as the whole venue, lapping up all of the plaudits, firing out the lyrics with auctioneer speed. I’ve seen them play many times and their performances are getting even more crazy, if that’s possible.

A lovely touch came from a fan who had seen Chasing The Fall on Tik Tok, who lives in Chorley, and came down on the train to see them. One of the band members heard about this and they all had a photo taken with her.
