They’re back! Mad Haven, the three piece original material rock band from North Wales are back and biting, point proven by their brand new single, the aptly titled ‘Take Control’ and a new music video will be released tonight at 08/08/25.
Where does the time go? It seems an age since I saw them supporting Massive Wagons at Chester Live Rooms.
In just under three minutes they show that their songwriting prowess is still a force to be reckoned with as they crank up their amps to eleven for speaker rattling prowess. It’s a rough and raunchy headbanger full of “Whoa oh oh’s”which are mandatory to be sung along to. A groovy guitar laden midsection is the calm before the storm manic outro. Job done!
MAD HAVEN are a 3 piece original material rock band from North Wales. The band’s aim is to enable people from all walks of life to come together to leave reality and their daily struggles behind and let go while enjoying their music and the unmatched energy they bring. Since forming back in 2011 as a young school band, they have worked hard to build a core fan base, spread across the UK, Europe and Australia as well as a great reputation within the music industry. They played their last show in October 2023 before the band was put on hold while Tom & Alex headed out to Australia. In June 2025, MAD HAVEN was reborn. The lineup, consisting of the same 3 members, Tom Rogowski, Alex Rogowski and Adam Haven went into the studio and began recording new music and filming a brand new music video for what is to be their first release in 2 years, TAKE CONTROL.
The song has a very direct and powerful message. The song starts with “this is your chance to follow the road, make no mistake, take action”. This impactful first line urges listeners to go for what they want to achieve in life NOW.
The song talks of the struggles of daily life and that anyone dragging you down should not be in the forefront of your mind. Instead, you should follow your heart, take stock and focus on the positives. “The illustrations inside a losers eyes. They change and disappear all of the time” describes a very relatable issue where the people dragging you down will bend the truth to fit the narrative they have created. This is no reflection on you. Once you “take control of it” and remove these toxic people from your life, you’ll start to feel like you are “livin’ it up again”.
