Welcome to the weird and wonderful World of The Dying Lights.

On February 5th 2021, Cheshire based noisemongers The Dying Lights stick a big middle finger up to Covid-19 by releasing their slightly unhinged new single ‘Crash’. In just under four minutes they summon up some spine chilling inner demons.

Formed in 2017 by guitarist Derek Holmes, several line up changes see them at the present day with Marina Red on lead vocals and Glyn Sutton on drums who has also produced ‘Crash’ courtesy of Colossus Productions and a damn fine mix he has done to it!

A haunting vocal from Marina lulls you into a false sense of security until it erupts to scare the shit out of you that’s made more intense in the song video below. It’s a distinctive delivery that brought to mind the commanding presences of Siouxsie Sioux and Chrisse Hynde.

Musically, the guitar work is an earworm main riff that shifts back and forth with a grunge bombast, bass guitar duties from Tim Lee and a drum battery that sees some snappy snare work in the full on choruses.
