With this in mind, we had a sit down with the band…….
What is the full band line-up, who sings and who plays which instrument?
Ollie Kitchen Bass Guitar/ Lead Vocals, Sarah Monteith-Skelton guitar/vocals and Reece Ryan drums/vocals.
How and when did the band form?
November 2017 Sarah and Ollie met on a night out, they knew each other from the local music scene. Sarah asked Ollie if he fancied a jam with her and Reece (drummer). We booked a practice and started jamming. It fell into place nicely. Primes were then formed.
Tell us anything interesting about your hometown.
Our hometown is a small town right in the middle of Glasgow and Edinburgh called Falkirk. We have two giant metal horses heads and a wheel. We have a small but talented music scene but generally have to go to the bigger cities to showcase it.
When and how did the band really start gelling and solidifying?
Once we had recorded and released our debut single “Breathe” we had a platform to get gigs and knew how we wanted to sound as a band. Our debut gig was King Tuts Glasgow which was massive for us. It’s really been going strength to strength since that first show.
Who are your musical influences?
Foo Fighters, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Kings of Leon and Feeder.
If a deaf person were to ask you to describe the sound of your music, how would you describe it?
Melodic, punchy chorus drops, harmonies, driven guitars, beefy bass lines and memorable.
Do you have a tour on the horizon?
We are currently on tour and we will be just as busy in 2020.
