.@Planetmosh @AnybodyBC reviews “Fair Youth” by @Mybshwll released via @superball_music
Five guys, lots of instruments, various sounds and melodies, and well, magic hypnosis. This is – Maybeshewill from Leicester, UK. These guys have been hypnotizing people with their music since 2005 and already have released three full-length albums and one EP. At the end of August, they will proudly presenting their fourth studio album with the nostalgic title – “Fair Youth”.
This band is less about the words and more about the music and feelings. The only words one can find on the whole album, are in the song titles. But even the very first one (which is very short and seems to be an intro) does not have a name, just three dots, for one’s imagination. “Fair Youth” is a set of 11 melodic and hypnotizing instrumental tracks all rolled into a package of 50 minutes. That’s almost an hour of continuous melodic, multi-instrumental hypnosis back at one’s thoughts and feelings. They are mostly positive tunes, that bring up nostalgia, memories and a great calm. This is definitely musical therapy after a hard day. The band seems to be progressing in a very positive way and even when I saw them live couple of years ago, they mesmerized me, I do not dare to think, what is going to happen the next time I see them.
“Fair Youth” by Maybeshewill is the album where rock, post-rock, electronic and experimental music combine all together as one. Great emotional colours for the body and soul, when words are simply unnecessary.
This is one of those albums, where having to pick the favourite track is very hard. The album is very continuous and listenable from the very first track to the last. ‘Fair Youth’ is a complete album crammed from start to finish with pure quality of the instrumental music.
“Fair Youth” by Maybeshewill will be released on 25th of August through Superball Music.
