Last Transmission, All The Time In The World.

This is the debut E.P. from four guy’s who formed up in 2012 and come from Newcastle Upon Tyne. So now we find out that the North-East is indeed full of Easton promise. The only thing wrong here is there’s not enough tracks on it! Trust me, once you hear this you’ll be left feeling you want more of this group. But being as it’s an E.P anyway, I think we can forgive the guys for now. These chaps have a great sound and you can tell from the professional way they play and gel together that they are a band to watch out for, and I’d say they’re definitely going places in the rock world.

This E.P is being released via San Agency Records. The first track ‘All You Left Behind‘ comes alive from the start and as some nice riff work. Good harmony’s from the lead and rhythm guitars, while bass and drums complement each other without drowning out each other. Lead singer Michael Blackwell has a nice clear crisp tone which lets you hear the words being sung. A bonus I feel as some lead singers mumble their way through a lot of tracks. Song number two ‘Anything To Anyone‘ again is another great song and is well written and performed. It kind of has a sound more reminiscent  of a West Coast American group I feel from time to time. That said, it detracts nothing from the song at all, it in fact I feel it gives it some colour. ‘Mess You Make’, starts with a good beat and a nice Asian sounding riff. I also enjoyed the Jimi Hendrix style playing on lead guitar by Richard Davies. A nice change to the norm there.

24‘, has a steady beat and is enjoyable to listen to as are all the tracks on this E.P. Last Transmission have a very professional sound liken to any seasoned group you can hear today. Again the lead guitar work is exceptional, mixing old and new sounds that meld together to bring out the best from these songs. Finishing with ‘Separate Way‘ it starts in a unique way. I won’t spoil it for you and tell you how, you’ll have to listen for yourself to see what i mean. This song as well as any of the others on this E.P. I’m sure could stand alone as a single and still be a hit in their own right.

All round, it’s a real good listen, and I can’t wait to hear the album as I’m already hungry for more from these guy’s.
