Summary:

Make a connection with Disconnected Souls for some thought provoking music from latest single Petrichor.

Eschewing from my usual heavy metal reviews, I thought for this Christmas Eve I’d tackle something not so straightforward and my train of thought lead me to Chester based Disconnected Souls who have recently released their stunning new single ‘Petrichor’. Petrichor is actually a natural phenomenon, a distinctive Earthly scent often experienced after a heavy storm.

A scintillating six minutes start with brief lilting piano that’s blasted away by crushing Prodigy like soundscapes that morph into a doom laden piece and the pace picks up a notch towards an ethereal orchestral string laden end of sparse piano and a haunting vocal that reaches out to your very soul.
