Summary:

A great release packed with hits that his fans will love. A really enjoyable DVD to watch.

On 27th July 1996, Bryan Adams played a show at Wembley stadium in front of a crowd of over 70,000 fans.  It was a show packed with hits, and now 20 years on, it’s finally getting a DVD release.   It’s a bare-bones release with no extras which is a slight disappointment – it would have been nice to have had an interview with him looking back at the show, but that aside, what you have here is a very good live DVD, especially bearing in mind it was filmed 20 years ago.
The picture and sound quality are good although at a time when we’re now used to HD video then it’s not up to that level, but it is still perfectly watchable quality.  Unlike many modern arena or stadium shows, this was a fairly simple affair – no pyro, no flashy gimmicks, just a band doing what they do best – entertaining the fans with great music.  It’s one hell of a good show with so many great songs from the 80s and 90s in the set.  For “It’s only love” he gets Melissa Etheridge to join him and they do a great version of it.  Songs like “Summer of 69” get the crowd singing along.  It’s an energetic set as you can see from the sweat staining his Tshirt as the show goes on.
For part of the set, the band left the stage and ran down a walkway through the crowd to a small stage near the sound desk where they played some songs surrounded by the audience.  As well as his own songs Bryan Adams did a couple of great covers – “Wild Thing” (The Troggs), and “I fought the law”.

It’s a surprise that a great show like this has taken so long to come to DVD, but now it’s finally here it’s a great release packed with hits that his fans will love.  A really enjoyable DVD to watch.
